Nicaragua COE Lot #10: Santa Gema
Santa Gema is a farm surrounded by native trees and has reserved land area protected for wildlife. It is a well managed family farm which takes pride in how it cares for workers as well as it transparency around all work conducted on the farm. This particular lot of coffee is a Maragogype varietal and offers a well balanced, super clean and juicy sweet cup with a complex fruit profile
Farm owner, Mario Jose Vilchez Urbina, has run the Santa Gema for 13 years - the total farm area being 60 acres with 25 acres dedicated to coffee cultivation. Mario has invested his time and energy into Santa Gema largely because the area has the type of climate that allow him to grow better coffee.
Naturally, Mario is proud that Santa Gema Cup of Excellence award is able to represent all coffee cultivated in the Nueva Segoiva region.
